Class of 2017 Test Prep

  • Start test prep with the ACT, take it in December or February for the first time.
    • There are simply more resources available.
    • We know this test better.
    • Its format will stay the same thorough out junior and senior year.
    • Many colleges that require subject tests take just the ACT in lieu of SAT and Subject Tests.
  • Take the ACT again in the spring, April or June.
  • Take the new version of the SAT in March and/or May.
    • The new SAT appears to be similar to the ACT in many ways, so test prep will already be in gear for this test.
  • After scores are out, reflect on which one gives the best option for admissions. Also decide if a final retake is necessary. Focus on that test for fall of senior year.
  • Colleges are used to students submitting multiple test scores (up to three times for one test).
  • You can choose which test, ACT or SAT, to submit with your application.
